Our client, a leading consulting company, are seeking a Google Cloud Architect to lead enterprise-scale Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure and security projects. This is a contract position, and will require you to work 3 days a week from their London based office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement secure, scalable GCP Landing Zones.
- Drive automation with Terraform.
- Architect Kubernetes (GKE) solutions.
- Collaborate with security, engineering, and DevOps teams to deliver robust cloud environments.
- Manage multi-cloud migrations, ensuring compliance with enterprise governance standards.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Demonstrable experience designing and implementing secure, production-grade GCP environments, including Landing Zones, IAM, networking, and compliance controls.
- Strong hands-on ability with Terraform for infrastructure-as-code, including modular design, automation (e.g., GitHub Actions/Terraform Cloud), and CI/CD best practices.
- Proven capability in architecting and deploying Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) clusters, including service mesh, autoscaling, workload identity, and observability.
- Solid understanding of GCP security, identity federation (SAML/OIDC), RBAC, Zero Trust networking, and VPC Service Controls.
- Experience leading cloud migration projects, including DNS, traffic switching, disaster recovery, and designing secure VPC networks with hybrid connectivity.
- Ideally have experience leading or supporting Datacenter EU to ZA migrations for either Google or Azure.
- Currently hold one or more Google Cloud Platform certifications would be advantageous.
