Macildowie are working with this client based in Birmingham to recruit a dynamic and experienced Finance Manager. This is an interim opportunity for c4-6 months requiring 5 days in the office (parking is available) and will suit a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with over 5 years post-qualification experience, ideally within a busy SME environment who also has excellent Excel skills.

You will manage a small finance function, ensuring compliance, driving performance, and partnering with the SLT.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading the completion of monthly reporting and management accounts to strict deadlines
  • Reviewing and maintaining balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring swift resolution of post-month-end actions
  • Managing the finance team
  • Presenting financial results to the board and PE investors, supporting and deputising for the CEO as required
  • Managing relationships with external auditors, tax advisers and legal partners, ensuring timely sign-off of financial statements
  • Overseeing treasury functions and ensuring effective day-to-day cash management
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns with accuracy and compliance
