Streamline Recruitment are currently working with a fast-paced, high-volume food logistics business looking to appoint an experienced Transport Manager to lead their transport department and team. This is a senior leadership role, ideal for someone confident managing day-to-day operations while driving compliance, safety, and performance across both transport and warehouse functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of a busy transport function, maintaining high standards across operations, safety, and service delivery.
- Focus on cost-effective route planning and vehicle utilisation, while keeping all fleet activity fully compliant with transport regulations and company policy.
- Support site-wide operations by ensuring transport runs smoothly alongside warehousing and despatch teams.
- Lead and develop your team through regular coaching, structured onboarding, and skills training.
- Manage performance levels across the department, ensuring consistency in absence management, disciplinary action, and ongoing team engagement.
- Work collaboratively with senior management and other departments to ensure operational targets are met.
- Keep accurate records and reports to support audits, compliance checks, and ongoing improvements.
Requirements:
- Strong organisational and people management skills, with experience handling performance reviews and development plans.
- Comfortable managing budgets and driving efficiencies.
- A valid and current International CPC.
- Background in overseeing temperature-controlled transport, including chilled and frozen products.
Monday to Friday 40 hrs (must be flexible) £45-55k + bonus + benefits!
