The Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team at the developer’s Leicestershire office. You will play a key role in managing the financial and contractual aspects of multiple timber frame residential projects, typically overseeing 3-4 sites at a time. This is a predominantly office-based role with occasional site visits, approximately twice a month, for valuations, client meetings, and subcontractor coordination.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Procuring and negotiating subcontract packages.
  • Conducting pre-let meetings and selecting best-value subcontractors.
  • Ensuring tender compliance and cost alignment with technical and construction teams.
  • Managing subcontractor payments and monthly valuations.
  • Monitoring project costs, forecasts, and budget performance.
  • Supporting delivery teams to maintain commercial efficiency across developments.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably within residential construction.
  • Understanding of timber frame construction (advantageous).
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills.
  • Based in Leicestershire for regular office attendance.
  • Team-oriented with a proactive and collaborative approach.
