I'm currently working in close partnership with a specialist SEN school in North London, as they look to appoint a new Headteacher.

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a dedicated and well-resourced school that caters for pupils aged 5 to 16, primarily with autism spectrum conditions and complex additional needs. The school has a strong, experienced staff team and a clear, inclusive ethos that places each child’s wellbeing and potential at the heart of everything they do.

🔹 About the School

  • A well-established SEN provision supporting children and young people with ASC and complex needs
  • Pupils benefit from a highly personalised curriculum, therapeutic support, and strong routines
  • A collaborative, multidisciplinary approach across education, therapy, and pastoral care
  • Purpose-built facilities designed to meet sensory, communication and behavioural needs

🔹 The Role

The school is seeking a strategic, compassionate, and experienced leader to take on the Headteacher role and guide the school into its next chapter. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing clear leadership, vision, and direction for pupils and staff
  • Ensuring high-quality, inclusive teaching and learning for a diverse cohort
  • Leading safeguarding and SEND provision across the school
  • Working closely with the Governing Body, families, and external agencies
  • Fostering a culture of continuous improvement, reflection, and staff development

🔹 The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)essential
  • Has Headteacher experience within a SEN or specialist school setting
  • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of autism, sensory needs, and behaviour support
  • Leads with emotional intelligence, high expectations, and clear communication
  • Is committed to empowering pupils, staff, and families through inclusive, aspirational leadership

🔹 What’s on Offer

  • Salary: £85,000 per annum
  • A stable and supportive staff team and governing body
  • The opportunity to shape strategic development within a specialist setting
  • Ongoing CPD and leadership support
  • A rewarding role where your leadership will make a meaningful impact
