An excellent opportunity has become available in a HVAC business for a knowledgeable Hire Service Technician in the Birmingham area.
Your Role
- Proactively diagnosing and seeking to fix system problems when servicing assigned products and equipment, ensuring that customer satisfaction is met at all times.
- Striving to provide services that meet customer needs in the most cost effective manner.
- Conducting scheduled and preventative maintenance services on assigned equipment and products.
- Working collaboratively and cohesively with other internal departments regarding ongoing issues that arise from servicing, ensuring that these are resolved as quickly as possible and in conjunction with the relevant teams when needed.
- Ensuring that strong communication with customers is upheld at all times, including discovering their needs, listening to requests and keeping them up to date with progress on servicing regularly.
- Utilising all tools at your disposal, including technology, software, physical equipment, blueprints and engineering specifications to diagnose and repair faults.
- Maintaining servicing tools and equipment used, to ensure these are in a working condition for when they are required as part of the role.
You MUST Have:
- FGas qualified and possess a NVQ or other Engineering qualification/degree.
- Excellent previous experience working within a comparable technician role, ideally within the HVAC/Engineering industry.
- Strong communication abilities to work cohesively with internal and external teams, as well as being able to communicate effectively with customers.
- An aptitude for technology or computer software would be desirable, including relevant apps and diagnostic software.
- Good problem solving skills.
- UK Driving License & right to work status.
- Be able to cover standby and call outs on a planned basis (including weekends and bank holidays).
Your Opportunity:

The job holder will specifically join the business' Hire division, supporting the ongoing maintenance and repair of hired out units to ensure excellent customer satisfaction.
For the successful candidate within this role, a competitive starting salary of around £37,000 will be on offer, depending on prior experience and knowledge, which will accompany an additional benefits package including a competitive holiday and pension allowance, internal 'work perks', incentives and much more. There will also be excellent routes and opportunities to progress into a more senior role with elevated duties and exposure to various elements within the sector. The business will facilitate this development with hands on training and learning support, enabling the position holder to develop their skills and knowledge relevant to the role.
