At Engage Education, weβre currently looking for an enthusiastic School Mini-Bus Driver / Caretaker to work temp to permanent at a fantastic school in Slough. Our team has built an excellent reputation in the local area, and weβre looking for more high-quality teaching assistants to work with these schools to positively impact the progress and attainment of their pupils.
Job Description:
We are seeking a reliable and responsible Mini Bus Driver to safely transport students to and from school, school events, and local trips. The ideal candidate must hold a valid D1 driving licence (manual transmission) and have a strong commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all passengers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a school mini bus (manual transmission) in compliance with traffic laws and school policies.
- Pick up and drop off students according to a fixed schedule.
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and ensure the vehicle is kept clean and roadworthy.
- Assist students on and off the bus when needed, ensuring their safety.
- Report any incidents, accidents, or vehicle defects to the appropriate authority promptly.
- Maintain good communication with school staff, parents, and students.
- Ensure high standards of behaviour and discipline are maintained on the bus.
Requirements:
- Valid D1 driving licence (manual transmission) β essential.
- Proven experience driving minibuses or similar vehicles.
- Clean driving record.
- Good knowledge of local routes and traffic regulations.
- Punctual, dependable, and professional.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
- Ability to work early mornings and/or afternoons (term-time schedule).
Desirable:
- First Aid training.
- Previous experience working with children or in a school environment.
