A newly created Procurement Manager opportunity has just landed with a rapidly growing infrastructure business based in Bradford. This is a standout opportunity for someone who thrives on building things from the ground up – you’ll be the very first procurement hire, tasked with creating the function from scratch and embedding procurement best practice across a growing construction-focused division.

The Role: This is not your average procurement role. You’ll be hands-on from day one – designing and implementing procurement policies, procedures, and systems, while working closely with the construction and wider project teams. From sourcing and negotiating with subcontractors and materials suppliers, to establishing frameworks and preferred supplier lists, you’ll own the function end-to-end.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all procurement activity related to construction, projects, and operational delivery.
  • Create and embed procurement strategy, systems, and governance from scratch.
  • Negotiate with suppliers, manage tender processes, and drive commercial value.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure procurement supports project timelines and objectives.
  • Monitor supplier performance, risk, and compliance.

About You:

  • Proven experience in a senior procurement role, ideally within construction, infrastructure, or related industries.
  • Confident managing the full procurement lifecycle, including setting up new processes and procedures.
  • Commercially astute, strategic thinker, and hands-on doer.
  • A collaborative communicator, able to influence stakeholders and drive change.
  • CIPS qualification desirable but not essential.

What’s On Offer: A rare chance to shape a procurement function in a business that’s investing in growth and innovation. Autonomy, visibility, and the support of a progressive senior leadership team. Hybrid working and a culture that values collaboration, impact, and purpose.

Interested? This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who wants to put their stamp on a business and take ownership from day one. If you’re up for a challenge and ready to lead the procurement agenda, apply now or drop me a message to find out more.
