We are proud to be working in partnership with a leading client in Cambridge searching for an experienced planning solicitor to join their team. This full-time, permanent role presents an excellent opportunity to advance your expertise while contributing meaningfully to the continued growth and success of the team. Hybrid working arrangements are offered.
Key Role Responsibilities:
- Ensure lawful and effective planning decisions are made, challenging decisions when necessary to uphold legal standards.
- Support sustainable development by balancing strict legal compliance with environmental and community considerations.
- Develop and maintain expertise in a niche but impactful area of law, with opportunities to specialise in planning, environmental, or public law.
- Assist in advising both public and private sector clients on a wide range of planning matters, including planning applications, appeals, enforcement actions, and judicial reviews.
- Draft, review, and negotiate Section 106 agreements and other planning-related legal documents.
- Conduct detailed legal research and prepare clear, concise reports, briefings, and advice notes for clients and internal use.
- Support senior lawyers in managing complex planning and environmental cases, contributing to case strategy and execution.
- Liaise regularly with local authorities, developers, consultants, and other key stakeholders to facilitate smooth legal processes and collaborative outcomes.
Candidate Requirements:
- Qualified Solicitor of England and Wales (NQ+)
- Strong technical knowledge and experience in commercial property and planning law
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- The ability to manage and prioritise a demanding caseload
- A proactive approach to client relationships and business development
- A commitment to professional development and staying up-to-date with changes in law and practice
Package:
- Competitive salary between £50,000 - £60,000 per annum (depending on experience).
