We are currently looking to onboard Engineers with significant experience in EITHER IBM Mainframe OR AS400 to work on a contract basis for a large bank. The Engineer roles sit within Enterprise Infrastructure in the Chief Technology Office and we are looking for 'core infrastructure engineers' rather than developers. The roles are expected to run for approximately 1 year (likely to be an initial 6 month contract with extensions). These positions are inside IR35. The bank has a hybrid model with expectation of 3 days per week in office. Sheffield is the preferred location; however, it is possible we may be able to consider consultants who would be based from Birmingham or London.
Key Requirements:
- 5 years + experience in either IBM Mainframe OR AS/400.
- Core infrastructure engineering background.
- Banking/Financial Services experience is not required but it would be helpful to have an awareness of business impact and risk.
- The team have a number of programmes to deliver in 2025/6 so it would be helpful to have some project/programme related experience.
