We are looking for a Senior Surety and Guarantee Underwriter in our Canary Wharf team.
The role:
A multi-faceted role requiring financial credit assessment, attention to detail with documentation, commercial relationship management and a broad understanding of macro/micro economic impactors for UK/IE corporates.
You will contribute to the achievement of profitable and sustainable growth within the framework of Allianz Trade Surety strategy, including underwriting duties through qualitative and quantitative analysis of Surety risks.
What you will do:
- Support the management and underwriting of the Surety & Guarantee portfolio in the UK and Ireland
- Identify opportunities to increase business, management of existing portfolio accounts and support broker relationships
- Review new business enquiries and onboard quality proposal
- Support the existing underwriting team with their workloads
- Build broker relationships and establish a presence in the market
- Develop a profitable portfolio of clients
Contribute to the on-going risk monitoring, including:
- Analyse accounts, whether transaction, mid-tier or large & sensitive risks
- Ensure up to date underwriting approvals are in place
- Undertake client meetings to propose appropriate risk strategy
- Prepare & review risk reports
- Contribute to portfolio risk reporting and dashboard development
- Participate in underwriting decisions in accordance with the Authority Matrix
What you will bring:
Market knowledge: Demonstrate understanding of Surety & Guarantee business including specific dynamics of business with emphasis on Risk Management. Ability to build networks with close contacts to market players and opinion leaders.
Business expertise: In-depth knowledge in understanding of contractual situations would assist. Demonstrate innovative thinking in proposal Risk solutions.
Interpersonal skills: Ability to interact with all levels, both internally & externally. Ability to convince stakeholders in negotiations.
