Design Systems Specialist

Freelance Design Systems Specialist (Remote) – Up to £450/day – 3 Month Contract – 3 Days per Week

My client an award winning agency is looking for an experienced Design Systems Specialist to join their team on a part-time, freelance basis to support a project already in-flight. You'll be instrumental in shaping, maintaining, and documenting their design system, ensuring consistency and efficiency across product teams. This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned design systems professional to work within a collaborative, cross-functional environment on a high-impact project.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the evolution and scalability of our design system
• Create, document, and maintain reusable Figma components and libraries
• Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and design teams to ensure system adoption and consistency
• Advocate for design system best practices and accessibility standards
• Engage stakeholders, gather feedback, and iterate based on team needs

Key skills:

• A strong portfolio demonstrating successful design system projects, including component architecture and documentation examples
• Proven ability to manage stakeholders and collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams
• Expert-level Figma skills, with experience building and maintaining complex design libraries
• Bonus: Experience in fintech, insurance, or other regulated industries
