Description:

  • The primary responsibility is to manage the FX Linear trading team and drive growth within the defined risk appetite in the UK, Europe and MEA (EMEA).
  • Define and implement strategy to grow the business and optimize capital usage, expand market share, deepen customer relations and broaden product delivery in line with organizations objectives.
  • Work with Sales, Product Management, eFX Trading and FX STIRT teams to ensure the EMEA FX Linear trading business is well connected and supported by those teams and they are helping deliver the strategy.
  • Drive innovation, process improvement and enhance client experience within the regulatory envelope in which the FX business operates globally.
  • Coordinate with Operations and Technology to ensure robust and consistent processes across the various geographies where Citi operates.
  • Ensure that new products are effectively implemented from an end-to-end perspective including all the relevant and required new product, third party and functional approvals.
  • Drive innovation and process improvement for the FX product suite through a more effective use of data analytics, deployment of new technologies and process re-engineering.
  • Lead the Global Team’s People Strategy, partner with HR, and provide direction and oversight to human capital related processes and programs.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Ensure the EMEA FX Linear trading team operates within the risk limits and product boundaries.
  • Leading strong governance and controls:
  • Work in close partnership with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, Finance in order to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure.
  • Build a culture of responsible finance, good governance and supervision, expense discipline and ethics.
  • Appropriately assess risk/reward of transactions when making business decisions; demonstrating proper consideration for the firm’s reputation.
  • Be familiar with and adhere to Citi’s Code of Conduct and the Plan of Supervision for Global Markets and Securities Services.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures governing the business.
  • Obtain and maintain all registrations/licenses which are required for your role, within the appropriate timeframe.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
  • Focus on process improvement, innovation and client experience, leveraging on technology and data analytics.
  • Work with technology to define system development priorities.
  • Stay up to date on market development to ensure Citi’s FX product offering is well positioned to lead the market.
  • Work with risk, legal, and other relevant partners to ensure products and transactions are structured robustly and relevant risks are identified and mitigated.
  • Work with NPAC partners and functional stakeholders on new product approvals.
  • Supervisory oversight and evidencing of such including but not limited to adherence to all relevant policies.
  • Ensure that the team is up to date on latest product developments and facilitate best practices, success and knowledge transfer across regions and countries.
  • Leverage internal relationships and work together with other regional heads in order to replicate best practices and processes across the globe.

Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience trading both EM and G10 FX and managing trading teams.
  • Solid risk taking and risk managing skills.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and influence a diverse population or FX traders across geographies, products and matrixed reporting lines.
