The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
Due to our clients' success and ever-growing client base, they have a great opportunity for an experienced/qualified Chartered Building Surveyor, but equally they can train up an enthusiastic graduate. The candidate will be based in Somerset or Devon as their offices are spread across the South West, managing your own workload (depending on experience) which may be as varied or specialised as you wish. They aim to allow their Building Surveyor to work in the place they want to live, doing the type of work they enjoy, with flexibility in working hours, and excellent support to assist them.
The role includes:
- Carrying out measured and condition surveys, pre-purchase surveys, defect inspections, preparing maintenance schedules etc.
- Design and specification writing including the preparation of drawings, schedule of works, tender specifications etc.
- Project work, monitoring and CA.
- Attendance at and leading on meetings with clients and other technical specialists.
- Contributing technical skills and knowledge to the team in order to maintain and improve the quality of our work and the expertise of our people.
- Preparing Party Wall Awards, expert reports, and assisting with dilapidations negotiations, boundary disputes etc.
- Assisting with the development of new and repeat business where possible.
About you:
- RICS accredited Building Surveying degree.
- Ability to demonstrate good all-round surveying knowledge/expertise.
- Desire to develop a career within a consultancy environment.
- Commitment to work towards RICS APC and ultimately Chartered status, if not already Chartered.
- Good team working skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly motivated and a self-starter able to work independently.
- Strong customer focus.
- Good IT skills, MS Word and Excel as a minimum (secretarial support is however provided).
- Knowledge of AutoCAD systems would be desirable but not essential.
- Full understanding of the importance of Health and Safety requirements.
- Driving Licence, own car essential.
What's on offer: GBP a basic salary + uncapped earnings (50% of your individual billings).
