Facilities Maintenance Assistant – South West Norse

• £29,556.80 pro rata (£14.21/hour)
• 40 hours per week
• Monday to Friday

South West Norse, a joint venture between Norse Group and Devon County Council, provides facilities management services across the South West. We are seeking a Facilities Maintenance Assistant to join our team in Exeter on a permanent basis to assist with general maintenance queries.

*A full UK Driving Licence is required for this role*

The Role:

This role involves executing a variety of maintenance duties across the site, including caretaking, cleaning, and building management, following relevant guidance and ACOP standards. Responsibilities include:

• Ensuring adherence to Health and Safety guidelines, policies, and procedures
• Performing minor repairs and maintenance tasks, both planned and reactive
• Conducting site compliance checks and remedial repairs
• Supervising on-site contractors for major works
• Carrying out general site maintenance, cleaning, and hygiene duties as needed
• Providing portering services under the Facilities Manager\’s direction

Our Successful Candidate:

We welcome applicants with experience in building maintenance, caretaking, or facilities management, particularly in delivering minor repairs and site maintenance duties. Candidates should demonstrate:

• Effective communication skills and ability to engage with the public
• Self-motivation, initiative, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
