Our award-winning Codemasters studio is looking for a Senior Economy Designer to join the F1 team. You’ll be part of a team delivering ‘AAA’ racing games within a studio that will value and recognize your contributions. You will help to re-invent and shape Codemasters’ boldest F1 racing title ever, from its creation to a genre-defining experience.
We’re looking for a Senior Economy Designer to join our world-class development team working on one of the most successful and beloved racing franchises in the industry. You’ll play an important part in designing, balancing, and evolving the in-game economy for a brand-new game mode, reporting to the Creative Director. You’ll collaborate with teams to create systems that are rewarding, fair, and engaging—while also supporting the game’s long-term monetisation and live operations goals. You’ll help shape a fresh economic foundation from the ground up, using your creativity and data experience with systems design to create an experience that millions of players will love.
Responsibilities:- Design and balance in-game economies, including currencies, progression systems, rewards, and monetisation mechanics.
- Use data analysis to monitor economic health, identify areas for improvement, and implement optimisations that enhance player experience and support our goals.
- Collaborate with game designers, product managers, analysts, and engineers to develop economic systems that are tightly integrated with gameplay and live operations.
- Manage features or systems from brainstorming through to implementation and post-launch iteration.
- Propose and run A/B tests and economy experiments and evaluate outcomes.
- Stay current with industry trends, player behaviour, and evolving monetisation models to bring ideas to the table.
- 4+ years of experience in economy design, systems design, or monetisation design - with experience working on one live-service game.
- Experience designing and tuning virtual economies, progression systems, and in-game reward structures at scale.
- Experience working with large datasets and creating economic models in software such as Excel (can perform complex functions).
- Hands-on experience using data to improve on design decisions.
- Comfortable working in a collaborative environment with teams.
