Finance Business Partner Central Entities
We have an excellent opportunity at Inchcape’s head office for a Finance Business Partner. Reporting to the Finance Controller, the role will be instrumental in partnering and assisting the central entities accounting and providing insightful analysis to the area and other key stakeholders in Group in respect of central entities performance.
This role ensures the financial controls remain in place whilst also working collaboratively with Finance colleagues at group level.
Job role and responsibilities:
Planning and Monitoring
- Track and monitor actuals in co-ordination with central entity budget holders.
- Review of PO’s and invoices in support of actuals review.
- Support on month end journal preparation.
- Preparation of forecast and budget submission to group.
Recharge Models
- In conjunction with other stakeholders (e.g. Group Tax), support the recharge methodology and allocation models for centrally incurred project expenditure.
- Document and gather support for recharges and amounts to be recharged to the markets.
- Work with group budget holders in support of ad hoc recharges to markets to ensure timely communication of charges.
Group Entities Reporting and Control
- Be a key player for the development of finance reporting for Central and Group wide projects.
- Track, report, analyse and challenge Group costs activities, providing insight into costs incurred and actions required to be taken to meet plans/targets.
- Engage, influence and guide the team in understanding financial impacts and trends.
- Develop ad hoc analysis and reporting as required and be a force of proposition in driving improvements.
- Support group finance with external and internal auditors, identify and mitigate risks in alignment with internal control policies.
Financial Accounting
- Support the month end close reporting activities including reviews of balance sheet reconciliations and support and review month end journals from offshore finance team (GBS).
- Support with Central AP activities, including payment runs, new supplier reviews and issues.
- Support in the administration of company corporate cards, ensuring compliance with internal control requirements.
Skills and experience required:
- Significant experience, fully Qualified Accountant with post qualification experience.
- Advanced MS Excel Skills.
- Experienced in working in a Plc / Head Office function (desirable).
- Previous experience in multinational and multicultural environment, possibly in a matrix organisation.
- Knowledge and experience working with SAP Finance (desirable).
- High level of accuracy and attention to details.
- Strong personal accountability, able to work well within a matrix organisation.
- Hands-on with a pragmatic approach and able to adapt to a multi-business, complex business environment.
- Delivery focused with an ability to work to tight deadlines.
- They will ‘think out of the box’ – continually improving the business processes around project management with a focus on financial accounting and costs.
- Ability to influence/partner other senior managers, organisational savviness, personal qualities of integrity and credibility, down to earth and value driven.
