Main duties of the job The Head of Estates will be responsible for the safe and compliant operational delivery of Estates (Hard FM) services across Greater Manchester, taking the role of Senior Operational Manager in accordance with HTM00 and contributing to the implementation of the Trust’s Estates Strategy 22/27 as part of overall corporate planning. They will be involved in the delivery of the Trust’s improvement plan – Building our Future Together, modelling optimism about meaningful change. In association with the CEF Senior Leadership Team, they will influence the strategic development of a diverse range of Estates Services whilst being responsible for coordinating and managing: Technical and statutory compliance, Efficient control and operation of resources. Detailed job description and main responsibilities Provide accountability for the day-to-day management and delivery of the Asset Register, Reactive Maintenance Programme, Planned Preventative Maintenance, New Works and Backlog Maintenance Programme, Space Utilisation, Fire Safety Management and Medical Devices Management. Ensure all work is appropriately planned, prioritised, sequenced, and executed to the agreed programme and delivered within budget. Apply and provide specialist knowledge and advice on service requirements including statutory obligations, best practice and standard operating procedures acting as the Senior Operational Manager in line with HTM-00. Accountable for the Fire Safety team, and liaise with the Trust’s Fire Safety Advisors in ensuring compliance with all relevant fire safety legislation. Act as a Responsible Person for Legionella, HVAC, Asbestos, Electrical Safety and Fire as set out in HTMs. Contribute to robust governance arrangements across the CEF Directorate that maintain high standards of performance and ensure accountability, openness and transparency working closely with independent Authorising Engineers. Undertake detailed analyses of service provision as required and contribute to the development of strategies and plans to improve service delivery in a cost-effective and efficient manner.
