The Opportunity: As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll take the lead in designing and building serverless, event-driven solutions using modern AWS architecture. This is your opportunity to shape best practices, mentor peers, and play a key role in scaling systems that support millions of customers — all while driving technical direction in a collaborative, forward-thinking team.
You’ll join us on a salary starting of at least £72,000 per annum, with potential for an annual bonus. This is a hybrid role, with the flexibility to work from home alongside attending one of our offices – in either #London, #Hove or #Exeter – once per month, or more frequently if you prefer.
From cloud-based technology to collaborative pair programming, EDF will support your growth across the full stack – alongside AWS vouchers and opportunities to mentor junior engineers and participate in hackathons, Dev Days, and industry seminars.
Who You Are: We’re looking for a Software Engineer who thrives on collaboration, teamwork, and innovation. For this Senior Software Engineer role, you need to offer demonstrable experience in:
- Building applications from conception to delivery and supportability
- Front-end and back-end serverless AWS capabilities
- Conceptional design, working with UI/UX on components
- Commercial React frameworks – React Native and TypeScript, or equivalent
- Using Terraform or an equivalent infrastructure as code tool
- At least one server-side language, such as Python/Node.js
- RESTful and GraphQL APIs, including the integration of third-party APIs
What You’ll Be Doing: In addition to expanding your knowledge and building great applications, you’ll enjoy a collaborative and dynamic start-up culture, combined with the stability and backing of a large organisation. As our next Senior Software Engineer, your contributions will include:
- Taking ownership of a solution feature set or capability

- Creating well-designed, testable code to enable automated testing and deployment
