Create have teamed up with a leading British luxury brand, looking for a Senior Accessories Designer to join our creative team. This is a key role responsible for developing seasonal collections across handbags, small leather goods, scarves, belts, gifting, jewellery and more — translating the brand’s heritage into innovative, commercially strong designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development of seasonal colour palettes and overarching design stories.
- Create and manage trend reports based on market, street style, social, and catwalk research.
- Translate the Chairman’s creative direction into cohesive visual boards and design briefs.
- Lead the creation of digital and physical concept boards for theme, colour, and material.
- Deliver detailed CADs, technical drawings, and design packs using Adobe Illustrator.
- Approve team CADs and ensure design specs are accurate for prototyping and production.
- Manage the Design critical path and ensure seasonal timelines are met.
- Create innovative concepts for new and heritage product lines, challenging continuity where needed.
- Research and develop new leathers, fabrics, hardware, and treatments with Product Development.
- Maintain raw material libraries and lab dip boards in an organised and accessible way.
- Support the sourcing and development of components fit for purpose across product categories.
- Lead design-to-PD handovers ensuring accuracy and clarity of all design intentions.
- Review and critique prototypes with the PD team to ensure execution meets brand standards.
- Work with suppliers to resolve technical challenges and deliver cost-effective solutions.
- Collaborate with the Product Director to build seasonal collections aligned with commercial goals.
- Use sales analysis and retail feedback to inform design decisions.
- Ensure all product lines are ready to integrate into seasonal drops according to business timelines.
- Mentor and support members of the Design Team.
- Attend and contribute to weekly creative meetings with the Chairman.
- Prepare and circulate meeting notes, ensuring clarity and follow-up on design actions.
- Ensure design samples are properly managed and secured.
What We’re Looking For
- 7+ years’ experience in accessories design, ideally within the luxury or premium fashion sector.
- Expert knowledge of leather, construction techniques, and raw material sourcing.
- Strong Adobe Illustrator skills and confident in producing technical CADs.
- Experience managing product cost, construction, and design feasibility.
- A collaborative leader who is organised, detail-focused, and commercially aware.
- Ability to inspire and mentor a design team while delivering exceptional creative results.
