Senior Accountant / Portfolio Director
Hours: Full Time (May consider part time for the right candidate)
Salary: Β£35,000 – Β£42,000 (dependent on experience)
Duties:
- Statutory Accounting β You will be responsible for reviewing and signing off company accounts prepared by junior team members. Accounts will be prepared under both FRS102 and FRS105 with few to none crossing the audit threshold.
- Company Tax Returns β You will review and sign off on company tax returns, while identifying planning opportunities for their tax team.
- Self-Assessment Tax Returns β You will review and sign off on self-assessment tax returns and manage the compliance process throughout the year for your portfolio of clients.
- Bookkeeping β Although primarily handled by junior team members, your support and advice may be required, especially during the onboarding of new clients.
- Management Accounts β You will prepare and submit management accounts for a small subset of your portfolio.
- VAT Returns β You will review and sign off on VAT returns, support clients with registration, and identify VAT opportunities and risks within your portfolio.
- Soft Skills β You will be responsible for managing more junior members of the team. They expect you to provide guidance and support to ensure effective workload management. You will also lead new business calls and work towards growing your portfolio with the support of management.

Requirements for the role include:
- Professional Qualification β ACA or ACCA qualified is essential.
- Experience β Ideally 2-3 yearsβ post qualified experience in practice, with prior experience independently managing a portfolio.
- Technology β Experience with Xero, TaxCalc and Excel would be a plus but not essential provided you are able and willing to learn. The vast majority of your portfolio will use Xero as opposed to other bookkeeping solutions.
- Personality β They are seeking an individual who can independently manage a portfolio and, in time, a small team. The ideal candidate should be independent, honest, personable, and friendly.
