We are seeking experienced Enterprise Risk Business Partners to work with the Head of Enterprise Risk to support and embed a comprehensive enterprise risk management framework within Thames Water. These are pivotal, new roles within our Strategy & Regulatory Affairs division, offering unique opportunities to make a real impact on the business.
You will effectively manage the implementation of enterprise risk management policies and processes across all business units, establishing strong lines of communication with internal stakeholders/risk owners. These rewarding roles will give you the chance to proactively enhance risk management philosophy and culture within Thames Water, acting as a single point of contact and subject matter expert for business functions.
What you will be doing as Enterprise Risk Business Partner:
- Work with the business in the identification and assessment of business risks and oversee and report on the delivery of mitigations and controls in accordance with agreed timescales.
- Oversee enterprise risk management reporting requirements, internally and externally, so that they meet the UK Corporate Governance Code requirements and other statutory obligations.
- Provide support to business functions so that risk management is an integral part of the decision-making process and is closely linked to Thames Water's business objectives and performance metrics.
- Manage the risk registers and facilitate the identification, assessment and prioritisation of key risks with the business and assist in the escalation of any risk for inclusion within the Principal Risk dashboard.
- Build value relationships with business colleagues to support decision-making in the identification of risks.
- Proactive engagement across Thames Water to embed risk management.
What you should bring to the role:
Essential:
- Relevant enterprise risk management experience supporting the implementation of effective risk management strategies and frameworks in an organisation.
- Strong understanding and working knowledge of current risk management frameworks.
- Must be able to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, as well as have excellent presentation skills.
- Able to operate effectively in a flexible, agile way in the context of changing priorities of the wider team and the business.
- Experience of working with senior teams to deliver risk reports and analysis and being a trusted advisor.
- Experience in developing and delivering risk training.
- Demonstrable experience developing collaborative working relationships, excellent interpersonal skills, able to influence, build and maintain strong working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to analyse large data sets.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to deliver quality deliverables to tight deadlines.
- A strong sense of personal resilience and the ability to remain focused on the bigger picture.
- Tenacity, drive and enthusiasm, completer finisher, proactive, comfortable with constructively challenging business leaders, enthusiastic, motivated, adaptable and proactive.
Desirable:
- Insightful business awareness with the ability to understand and analyse changing business context to assess and manage risk.

- Experience in the utility industry or other regulated environment.

- Recognised qualification in Risk Management (e.g. BA Risk Management, CertIRM) or working towards one.
