About The Role
We are hiring a Maintenance and Engineering Manager to lead the site’s maintenance and engineering teams and to support operations at our Chatham facility. This strategic role ensures plant reliability, equipment uptime, compliance with safety and environmental standards, and successful capital project execution in a dynamic chemical manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of mechanics, electricians, and external contractors.
- Oversee preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime.
- Manage critical utility systems (e.g., fire suppression, compressed air, wastewater treatment) to ensure reliability and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, PSM, and ISO 9001 standards.
- Plan, manage, and execute capital projects with budgets exceeding $100K.
- Support DCS/PLC troubleshooting and maintenance efforts.
- Track and analyze KPIs related to reliability, maintenance costs, and operational performance.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement across safety, quality, and production.
What We’re Looking For:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 3 years in maintenance or engineering management, preferably in a chemical or process manufacturing setting.
- Strong capital project management background.
- Hands-on experience with regulatory systems such as PSM, EHS, and ISO 9001.
- Working knowledge of DCS/PLC systems.
Skills And Abilities:
- Advanced technical skills in process equipment and utility systems.
- Root cause analysis and problem-solving expertise.
- Strong organizational and project management capabilities.
- Effective communication and leadership skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SAP.
Work Environment Considerations:
This job operates in both office and industrial plant environments. Candidates must be able to:
- Work in indoor/outdoor conditions.
- Climb stairs/ladders.
- Wear a full-face respirator as needed.
- Lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Engage in bending, crouching, and reaching.
