Our client, a privately owned Logistics provider and a pioneer in providing Logistics worldwide is seeking an experienced Logistics Coordinator to join their international operations team based in their Northampton office. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager with the primary purpose of coordination towards Multi & Intermodal traffic worldwide.
The main duties will include:
- Receiving bookings and organizing required transport / equipment for multimodal shipments
- Accurate preparation and completion of export cargo documentation liaising directly with the shipping lines, hauliers, customs agents, stevedores, forwarders, oversees offices / operations staff and third party agencies
- Provide consistent reports to customers (tracking, issues, delivery schedules etc.)
- Data entry into the in-house transport and accounts systems
- Raising sales invoices within the inhouse freight system.
The Key Requirements Will Include:
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Attention to detail is a necessity
- To be highly customer orientated
- High level computer literacy particularly with MS office
- Can-do attitude with ability to work under pressure
- Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a small team
- Proactive outlook with the ability to meet strict deadlines
- Analytical and logical approach to problem solving
- Previous experience in a similar level role with a good understanding of transport/logistics operations is an advantage.
- Multimodal operations and knowledge of worldwide freight (incl. container, rail, road, air, customs) would be a big plus but not a necessity
- Written and verbal fluency in a second language (other than English) would be advantageous but not essential
- A good understanding of geographical knowledge is a necessity
Excellent opportunity and able to work from home 2 days per week.
