The role ensures the safe and effective refitting of nuclear submarines by upholding the highest standards of nuclear safety, leadership, and procedural excellence. Day-to-day, you’ll oversee the authorisation of nuclear procedures, support submarine refitting operations, and ensure compliance with safety cases, while promoting a strong safety culture and providing expert leadership across teams.

- Provide technical oversight during submarine refitting and maintenance activities
- Contribute to the development and implementation of plant safety cases and manage change requests
- Promote a strong safety culture through leadership, mentoring, and employee engagement
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to align on safety and operational goals
This role is full time, 35 hours per week based on site at our Devonport site.
Essential experience:
- Review and authorise nuclear procedures to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
- Provide technical oversight during submarine refitting and maintenance activities
- Contribute to the development and implementation of plant safety cases and manage change requests
- Promote a strong safety culture through leadership, mentoring, and employee engagement
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to align on safety and operational goals
Qualifications:
- Suitable degree in Engineering or Science
- Level 5, Foundation Degree or HND in Engineering or Science
Security Clearance: The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
