An exciting new job opportunity has arisen for a committed Deputy Ward Manager to work in an exceptional mental health hospital based in the Dorking, Surrey area. You will be working for one of UK’s leading health care providers. This mental hospital provides acute mental health service along with a 3-bed step-down, community focused ward. The service supports males of working age, experiencing an acute mental health episode, providing the necessary levels of care required during crises.
To be considered for this position you must be qualified as a Registered Mental Health Nurse with an active NMC Pin.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the clinical development of the ward through managing staff and monitoring clinical standards and practice.
- Work closely with the Ward Manager to achieve ward targets and deliver high quality patient care.
- Coordinate the quality and management of nursing care, patient care and the clinical environment.
- Participate fully with the multidisciplinary team and undertake direct patient care.
- Manage and direct the delivery of clinical services within a ward or unit, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, current legislation and meeting quality standards.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Previous experience of working within an acute admissions environment.
- 2 years post qualifying experience.
- Effective leadership skills including self‑motivation.
- Passionate, driven, confident and resilient leader.
- Excellent communication skills with a natural ability to lead, motivate and inspire your team.
- A commitment to patient‑centred care and to values‑based and evidence‑based practice.
Salary and Benefits
Salary: £43,014 – £46,314 per annum (DOE). Permanent full‑time role working 37.5 hours a week.
