Exams Officer
Location: Luton
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

A secondary school in Luton is seeking to appoint a highly organised and detail-focused Exams Officer to join their team on a permanent, full-time basis from September 2025.

This is a key role within the school, ensuring the smooth running of all internal and external examinations. The Exams Officer will work closely with senior leaders, Heads of Department, teachers, students, and external bodies to manage all aspects of the examinations process from planning and organisation through to results day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the administration and delivery of all public and internal exams.

  • Liaise with exam boards and ensure compliance with JCQ and awarding body regulations.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date exam data and entries using the school\’s management systems.

  • Organise exam timetables and rooming, and manage invigilation staffing and training.

  • Ensure the secure storage and handling of all exam materials.

  • Oversee results processing, distribution of results, and post-results services.

  • Provide clear communication to students, parents, and staff regarding examination procedures.

  • Contribute to the wider administration team and support school priorities as required.

Who We Are Looking For:

  • Strong administrative and organisational skills with high attention to detail.

  • Previous experience as an Exams Officer or in a similar school-based administration role is desirable (training can be provided for the right candidate).

  • Ability to manage and prioritise workloads, work to tight deadlines, and remain calm under pressure.

  • Strong IT skills (SIMS or equivalent MIS experience desirable).

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A flexible and proactive approach to team working and supporting the wider school community.
