Our client is looking for a passionate and experienced General Manager to join the team at their stunning site. This prestigious venue, based in Hertfordshire, provides catering & hospitality for the public as well as numerous weddings, high-scale events, and conferences.
The role:
As the General Manager, you will be:
- Managing and supporting a core team with motivation and enthusiasm.
- Key liaison for all clients, working with them to manage and exceed expectations.
- Overseeing and managing the operational team – driving the business and upselling where possible.
- Responsible for labour, forecasting, and spending costs in line with targets and budgets.
- Managing staffing levels for events by planning ahead.
- Developing and managing the client relationship as a whole.
What we’re looking for:
You, as the ideal candidate, would be:
- An experienced General Manager with a proven background within Hospitality and Events.
- Highly experienced in Management and Leadership – proven ability in managing large teams.
- Successful within high-quality conference and event catering.
- Passionate about getting the best out of people and maximizing commercial opportunities.
- Strong in communication skills – able to engage and interact with a variety of people at all levels.
- Flexible in approach to working hours/days.
- Financially minded – have a good understanding of report writing and financial management.
- Able to work under pressure and to deadlines whilst remaining calm and level-headed.
- Open-minded with a can-do, positive approach and an analytical approach to problem-solving.
