Due to promotion, an opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and experienced Deputy Pharmacy Production Manager to join our innovative Pharmacy Production unit at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Trust (UHBW)! We are a diverse unit that holds ‘Specials’ and Investigational Medicinal Product (IMP) licences, is MHRA accredited, and carries out aseptic dispensing of products under Section 10 exemption and Pharmacist supervision!
As the Deputy Pharmacy Production Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, efficacy, and compliance of pharmaceutical products manufactured at UHBW Trust. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside Pharmacists, Technicians, and Scientists to contribute to healthcare advancement and improve patient outcomes. In this role, you will support the Associate Director of Pharmacy – Production in leading the Pharmacy Production Unit, maintaining and advancing operations, quality management systems, and people services within the unit. The unit prepares products such as CIVAS, Monoclonal Antibodies, Investigational Medicinal Products, ATMPs, aseptic batches, non-sterile batches, and extemporaneous preparations. It also provides a dispensing service for outsourced unlicensed products like Total Parenteral Nutrition.
The role involves operational involvement in all department aspects and participation as an Authorised Pharmacist in supervising, checking, and releasing products prepared and dispensed. The post-holder will be the departmental lead for Clinical Trials and Investigational Medicinal Products, working closely with the in-house Quality Assurance Team to implement new products, processes, systems, and equipment, and to maintain the Quality Management Systems.
