Base Location: For this role, we require successful applicants to be based from one of our Scottish locations - Perth, Inverness, Aberdeen or Glasgow.

The role SSEN Transmission are currently recruiting for an experienced Subsea Engineer to join our Project Engineering team and support our growing portfolio of subsea HVAC and HVDC cable projects. This project engineering role supports all offshore and nearshore design and installation engineering activities across the project lifecycle; from start of development to end of execution. In undertaking this key role for delivery of critical national infrastructure projects, you’ll be a key player in helping us achieve Net Zero.
You will:
- Apply design & engineering governance throughout each project phase and demonstrate same during “Gate” assurance reviews.
- Support project FEED, such as preparation of technical work scope and specification for specialist surveys, studies and supervision.
- Prepare technical work scope and specification for subsea engineering activity/deliverables for ECC contracts.
- Review & accept the contractors' engineering & design deliverables; balancing technical risk/benefit to make confident design decisions.
- Promote safe design & construction and discharge CDM duties, as a member of SSEN Transmission's Designer/Principal Designer team.
You have:
- Minimum qualification level of BEng in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Knowledge and experience from performing a similar role, preferably including time spent offshore.
- Working knowledge of relevant industry codes, standards, specifications, and safe working practices.
- Willingness to mobilise offshore to supervise critical installation works for compliance with the Employer's requirements.
- Excellent communication, time-management and organisational skills.
