We have an exciting opportunity within the Children, Families and Education Directorate for a ‘Local Authority Education Link Coordinator’ post.This role was developed as a legacy of the LA Link Coordinator role during Covid-19 which involves monitoring and tracking our most vulnerable children and ensuring that we have a joined-up approach across both the local authority and education settings.

We are looking for someone who can fulfil the existing role that has now become established and well regarded within schools and the children and families directorate.We are looking for someone who is passionate, dedicated and is able to make a real difference to children and families and continue to strengthen our multi-agency work.

As a Link Coordinator you will ensure that education settings are aware of their vulnerable pupils that are open to either Children’s Social Care or our Early Help and prevention teams, promoting a coordinated and joined up approach.You will have experience of working in either a children and families or education background and have excellent safeguarding knowledge.

You will be working alongside your allocated schools to provide advice, guidance, challenge and support with a key focus on ensuring the right processes and practice are in place on a multi-agency basis to improve outcomes for children and their families.

You will need to be able to build excellent working relationships with schools and services, and work using a restorative approach.You will also have the skills to be able to have honest and challenging conversations with professionals, using a high support, high challenge approach.

You will have experience of working with children and families, being a lead professional, completing family support plans and have up to date safeguarding knowledge and practice. You will also be working alongside the PSCP team to support the delivery of the safeguarding training programme.

You will be a committed individual who is able to work using their own initiative, have excellent inter-personal relationships and be able to communicate with a variety of services and individuals.

You will be organised, IT literate and flexible within the remit of the role as it develops.
