Overview of Role: Reporting to the Learning Support Manager, your main duties will be to manage a team of Learning Assistants, Communication Support Workers and Care and Independence Support Workers promoting inclusive learning, maintaining attendance, supporting achievement and student progression, also ensuring that learning support is of the highest standard and meets the needs of all students and the proposed ALN Code. You will also be required to manage the provision of in-class support for students with additional learning needs and those requiring support with physical disabilities, sensory impairments, mental health or medical conditions to access courses. The successful candidate will manage, maintain and review individual development plans, being responsible for the transition of learners with ALN, both into college and progression towards employment and/or community inclusion. You will be required to maintain and review Education, Health and Care Plans (England) and from 2019, Individual Development Plans (Wales), being responsible for the review system and adhere to Local Authority expectations. You will also be a point of contact for staff, students and parents.
Essential Requirements: To be considered for this position you must have a GCSE in Maths & English at Grade C or above (or equivalent). Candidates must have substantial previous experience of working with people with additional needs and providing support in a classroom or a similar setting is essential. Welsh language skills are desirable for this position. Coleg Cambria is committed to raising the profile of the Welsh language.
