Laing O'Rourke is one of the companies who signed the MOD's Strategic Alliance contract that will see it deliver important infrastructure work across the DEO Portfolio. At Laing O'Rourke, we are looking for a Document Controller to join our project team delivering new facilities for the Ministry of Defence (MOD) at Alexander Barracks in Pirbright, Surrey.
What duties to expect from the role? On top of tasks such as scanning and uploading, you will need to be organised to coordinate, arrange, record, and review project collaboration training requirements. Below are the duties of the role:
- Produce project specific Project Information Management Plan using the company template, ensure compliance with project procedures and review regularly.
- Assist in the production and approval of project collaboration protocols document.
- Maintain Asite administration, including user and security management.
- Assist LOR Design Team to ensure accurate distribution of information, management of comments and approval cycle, and ensure project deadlines are met.
- Carry out QA checks on all published information/documentation in accordance with project document control procedure.
- Resolve drawing/document issue queries, providing support to all project users.
- Receive/check/distribute documents in accordance with project procedures/distribution matrix.
- Produce all reports in accordance with project requirements, both internal and external.
- Manage reprographic services both internal and external resources.
- Define and document Method Statement process and include in Project Procedures.
- Register, upload and track all Method Statements in accordance with timescales set down.
What essential skills & experience are we looking for?
- Document numbering knowledge to British standards ISO19650.
- Electronic Document Management Systems knowledge - Asite.
- Knowledge of syncing mobile devices.
- Microsoft Office experience and general admin skills.
- Ability to set up and agree Field View protocols.
