A well-renowned firm of accountants in Merseyside is currently looking to expand by recruiting experienced Audit & Accounts professionals into their team. Having recently secured new business, they are now aiming to strengthen their Audit & Accounts teams by recruiting Audit & Accounts Seniors with experience working with OMBS and SMEs. The firm is interested in speaking with newly qualified or soon-to-be-qualified professionals about career progression opportunities.

The Role:

• Planning and delivering audit/accounts assignments in coordination with the client partner or manager
• Leading some of the firm\’s largest and most complex assignments
• Supervising junior staff during audits and reviewing their work
• Ensuring timely delivery of audit files to the assignment manager
• Identifying cross-selling opportunities and potential management letter points
• Managing client communication effectively
• Monitoring chargeability and assignment budgets proactively
• Coaching staff to improve performance and technical skills
• Developing sector-specific knowledge and staying updated on industry developments
• Mentoring trainees and contributing to training and development programs

Requirements:

• Experience in OMB/SME private company audits: planning, budgeting, risk identification, audit planning, and execution
• Knowledge of current auditing standards and techniques: analytical review, controls documentation, sampling
• Experience using electronic working paper systems like Caseware for audit and accounts files
• Significant experience in statutory company accounts preparation under UK GAAP, including charities and LLPs
• Experience with consolidated accounts and component auditor issues
• Leadership experience supervising teams on-site and reviewing their work
• Experience in budget preparation and monitoring actual time against budgets
