Position: Civil Engineer Type: Permanent Location: Drax Power Station, Selby Salary: Up to £65,000 + bonus and benefits Closing date: Sunday 15th June 2025 Role Overview As an Engineer within the Civil Engineering Team at Drax Power Station, you’ll be a civil engineering subject matter expert, accountable for technical excellence and key engineering decisions. You’ll manage relationships with consultancy and contractor resources, supporting the development and maintenance of civil assets. Responsibilities Support the Lead Engineer in delivering the Business Plan. Develop strategies for maintaining aging civil assets and constructing new ones. Support team members and serve as a point of contact for civil engineering inquiries. Manage stakeholders, produce specifications, and oversee project scope. Ensure compliance with legislative, statutory, corporate, and site policies. Handle contract management, including negotiations, tenders, and supervision of contractors. Candidate Profile Technically competent with experience reviewing designs and calculations to British Standards, Eurocodes, and Temporary Works. Previous design experience as a consultant or design manager in civil infrastructure and construction projects. Excellent communication skills for engaging at all levels and managing multiple stakeholders. Relevant university degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
