Location: HMP Grendon Springhill

Salary: £41,818.28 + 5% basic salary in recognition of shift and weekend working, with an additional £3,000 per annum in allowances

Contract: Full Time - Perm (39hrs per week, mon-sun shift work)

We are seeking a dedicated, fully qualified Electrician to join our team at HMP Grendon Springhill. HMP Grendon is a Category B training prison, while HMP Springhill is a Category D open prison, and they are jointly managed by the same facilities team.

Our Facilities Maintenance Team is dedicated to ensuring smooth and safe operations, impacting prisoners, staff, visitors, and the wider community.

As an Electrician, you will work alongside experienced colleagues including Plumbers, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, and Administrators, all committed to making a positive difference and providing a secure environment for all. We are a Ministry of Justice business providing critical services to HMPPS, seeking an Electrician with:

  • Certificate in BS7671:2018 (18th edition)
  • Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or Electrotechnical Services (City & Guilds/EAL), including NVQs and assessments (AM2/AM2S), e.g., 2367 or 2357
  • Two years' experience as a fully qualified electrician
  • Experience with commercial or industrial electrical systems
  • Knowledge of planned and preventive maintenance
  • Good Health & Safety knowledge
  • Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
