Electrical Engineer Platform Systems Scotstoun Based (Hybrid working) £33.92 an hour Umbrella Inside IR35 6 Month Contract initially. This is a great opportunity to work within one of the UK\’s leading Defence organisations based in Scotstoun. The role offers hybrid working, with 1-2 days per week onsite. Core Activities: * Ensure effective application of processes, supporting design, modifications, and improvements in the following areas, in accordance with relevant standards and best practices: LV Distribution, QPS, and Electrical Safety LV Protection Systems and Earthing Systems LV Cabling and Cable routing Converted Supplies Portable Apparatus and Domestic Supplies Aviation Support General and Special Lighting Hull Preservation Systems Degaussing Key Accountabilities: * Develop design specifications under guidance and execute design activities aligned with specifications and quality standards. This includes producing mechanical schematic diagrams, calculations, and specifications. * Participate in developing, maintaining, and modifying engineering processes and procedures in mechanical engineering to respond to technical developments and operational needs. * Conduct technical analyses and investigations, evaluate and select technical options, and prepare reports with recommendations to support design improvements. * Prepare mechanical technical equipment specifications and develop mechanical designs in compliance with all standards and specifications. * Contribute to process improvements within the operational and engineering teams to enhance quality, cycle time, and asset utilization. * Liaise with customers and suppliers on engineering matters. * Provide guidance and support to less experienced team members for their effective work and development. * Participate in engineering team decisions to support team performance. * Make engineering decisions within your scope of responsibility. * Address technical queries related to your work within your knowledge and competency level. Qualifications/Functional Knowledge: * Degree in a technology, engineering, or science-related discipline. * Working towards registration as an Incorporated Engineer or Chartered Engineer with the Engineering Council. * Good knowledge of most aspects within your current discipline. * Ability to perform analyses using recognized tools and make sound judgments. * Capability to make correct trade-off decisions. * Effective verbal and written communication skills for management and peers.
