Sompo has a unique opportunity for an Assistant Underwriter in our UK Property team within our UK Corporate Property business on a fixed-term contract. Our Corporate Property team handles large commercial risks across the UK and international markets. This position is based in our London office.
What you’ll be doing:
- Support underwriters from risk submission through to binding, covering all aspects of the underwriting process.
- Respond promptly and professionally to mid-term questions from brokers and internal stakeholders, delivering first-class service within authority limits.
- Engage with brokers and external parties, including third-party providers, maintaining and developing strong working relationships.
- Contribute to underwriting service projects aimed at improving existing services.
- Maintain accurate risk, exposure, and premium accounting in the company’s policy administration and documentation systems.
- Assist with underwriting and modelling, including completing pricing models.
- Provide ad-hoc support to underwriting teams as needed.
- Prepare financial and other analyses to support the underwriting team.
