Salary: £33k – £36k

Location: Hybrid but you should be able to visit Leicester Head Office twice a week.

Your responsibility involves developing and enhancing internal communication materials, ensuring they are not only effective but also visually engaging. From crafting newsletters, presentations, and intranet content to collaborating on various projects across departments, your creative writing skills will be at the forefront of sharing company news and updates. You will support our Learning and Development team by creating compelling training materials, presentations, e-learning content, and reporting activities. Creative writing would be an advantage as you will effectively manage internal communication of company news, information, updates and procedures to the business.

Main duties of the role:

  • Internal Communication: Ensure the most effective method is used for all internal communication, including email announcement, Red Alert announcement, poster, newsletter, presentation, team briefing, survey, or update meeting.
  • Maintain, update and develop the company intranet.
  • Produce the company’s newsletter when required.
  • Produce any ad-hoc newsletters/communication to support company strategy/key objectives – e.g. Customer Service, awareness campaigns.
  • Work with other areas of the business on projects or campaigns to help develop internal communication plans/communicate key messages.
  • Produce artwork and templates for use by HR and other areas of the business.
  • Draft announcements and articles for approval and distribution as necessary.
  • Communicate & schedule training initiatives.
  • Gain colleague feedback to support and develop initiatives.
  • Assist with the organisation of Company Conference/Management Update Meetings and the preparation and development of key message presentations.
  • Research new methods of internal communication.
  • Develop and produce graphics and other materials, such as videos, for use in internal communications.
  • Generate communication and training reports using data from internal systems in Excel, Google Sheets & Data Studio summarising key findings and insights.

Learning & Development Materials:

  • Work with the L&D team to support the development of new courses by producing the materials used in training, including presentation slides, handouts and any other materials as required.
  • Develop templates for use in all learning materials.
  • Create & maintain a training content maintenance schedule that ensures the regular review and update of existing content, both instructors led and online.
  • Maintain course materials with updates and changes to procedures.
  • Review existing materials to transfer them to new formats where necessary.
  • Quality check all materials prior to distribution and sign off.
  • Develop images and graphics for use in training when required.
  • Develop and update e-learning content using Articulate 360/RISE and other media such as video.
  • Conduct research into new methods of learning and development in partnership with the L&D team.

Key skills and attributes required:

  • Good numeracy and excellent communication and written English skills.
  • Skills in graphic design and the ability to use the appropriate software (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Ability to produce work to a very high standard and to be creative.
  • Excel knowledge.
  • The ability to interpret a written or verbal brief.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills.
  • Customer focused and a desire to support the business.
  • Pro-active.
  • Confident, assertive, and self-aware.
