The Director of International and Special Projects is a senior leadership role focused on driving strategic initiatives and managing complex lift projects on a global scale. This position involves overseeing international business development, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and interfacing with cross-functional teams to achieve company objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic plans for international expansion and special projects.
- Identify and evaluate new market opportunities and partnerships globally.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of special projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, sales, and marketing, to ensure project alignment with company goals.
- Build and maintain relationships with international clients, partners, and stakeholders.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with international partners and suppliers.
- Ensure all projects comply with local and international regulations and standards.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with international projects.
- Lead and mentor a team of consulting engineers.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- MSc in lift engineering or equivalent experience.
- Registered as a Chartered Engineer CEng or in process of application.
- Extensive experience in design and project management within the lift industry.
- Specific design experience of high rise VT systems in multi-use developments.
- Proven track record of managing international projects and teams.
- Understanding of RIBA Stages of work and VT related deliverables required at each stage.
- Experience of working with premium architects and within multi-disciplinary teams.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Understanding of applicable standards and how these are applied internationally.
- Proficiency in lift design software and tools, e.g., Elevate.
- Ability to develop innovative analytical methods and techniques.
- Knowledge of international business practices.
