The Director of International and Special Projects is a senior leadership role focused on driving strategic initiatives and managing complex lift projects on a global scale. This position involves overseeing international business development, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and interfacing with cross-functional teams to achieve company objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for international expansion and special projects.
  • Identify and evaluate new market opportunities and partnerships globally.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of special projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, sales, and marketing, to ensure project alignment with company goals.
  • Build and maintain relationships with international clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with international partners and suppliers.
  • Ensure all projects comply with local and international regulations and standards.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with international projects.
  • Lead and mentor a team of consulting engineers.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • MSc in lift engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Registered as a Chartered Engineer CEng or in process of application.
  • Extensive experience in design and project management within the lift industry.
  • Specific design experience of high rise VT systems in multi-use developments.
  • Proven track record of managing international projects and teams.
  • Understanding of RIBA Stages of work and VT related deliverables required at each stage.
  • Experience of working with premium architects and within multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Understanding of applicable standards and how these are applied internationally.
  • Proficiency in lift design software and tools, e.g., Elevate.
  • Ability to develop innovative analytical methods and techniques.
  • Knowledge of international business practices.
