A well-established Legal 500 firm is seeking an experienced and driven Corporate Solicitor at Partner level to join their reputable Farnborough based office. This role is ideal for a professional with a strong foundation in corporate law, extensive transactional experience, and a proven record of client relationship management. As a Partner, you will play a key role in providing strategic legal advice to corporate clients, managing complex transactions, and mentoring our growing team of associates and junior solicitors.
Key Responsibilities:
Transactional Advisory and Management
- Lead and oversee complex corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures, restructuring, and private equity investments.
- Advise clients on business sales and acquisitions, shareholder agreements, and investment deals.
- Draft and negotiate various transactional documents with a meticulous eye for detail, ensuring that each clause is aligned with client objectives and risk management protocols.
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as a trusted advisor to high-profile clients, including corporations, investors, and business founders, providing tailored legal guidance that aligns with their business strategies.
- Manage and expand a personal portfolio of corporate clients, ensuring service excellence and fostering long-term relationships.
- Work closely with clients to assess legal risks, develop strategies, and respond to urgent and complex issues with clarity and precision.
Mentorship and Leadership
- Act as a mentor and provide leadership to junior solicitors and associates, guiding them on corporate law best practices and ensuring high-quality work output.
- Participate in performance reviews and career development plans, promoting a culture of excellence, diligence, and meticulousness within the corporate team.
- Collaborate with other Partners and contribute to firm-wide strategic objectives, particularly in areas of business development and client acquisition.
Compliance and Regulatory Advisory
- Keep clients informed of changes in corporate law and regulatory compliance requirements, ensuring that their business practices are in full legal compliance.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies when necessary and oversee client communications and filings to prevent compliance issues.
Business Development
- Contribute actively to the firm’s business development goals by networking, attending industry events, and nurturing referral relationships.
- Develop and implement client acquisition strategies that align with the firm’s growth objectives and reputation for service excellence.
Day-to-Day Duties:
- Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating various types of agreements, including shareholder agreements, investment documents, and joint venture agreements.
- Conducting thorough due diligence on business transactions, including identifying risks and proposing legal strategies to protect client interests.
- Attending and leading client meetings to discuss business objectives, provide updates on ongoing transactions, and negotiate terms of engagement.
- Ensuring the team’s workload is well-organized and deadlines are met with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Staying abreast of legal and market developments in corporate law, ensuring both personal expertise and the team’s knowledge base remain current.
Key Requirements:
- Qualified solicitor in England and Wales with 10+ years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in corporate law.
- Strong transactional background with significant experience leading on M&A, private equity, and business structuring.
- Excellent client-facing and negotiation skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage relationships and lead transactions from start to finish.
- Demonstrable track record of meticulous attention to detail, particularly in the drafting and negotiation of complex legal agreements.
- Proven experience in business development and the ability to contribute to firm growth and strategic client acquisition.

- Established network within the corporate law or business communities in the Surrey and Hampshire region.
