We are seeking a highly motivated and talented FPGA System Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in FPGA systems design, IP development and will be instrumental in developing safety critical, automation and robotics cutting-edge solutions. A background in video-vision, robotics, control systems, or safety-critical design techniques is highly desirable for this role.
As an FPGA System Design Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Design, develop, and verify FPGA-based solutions, including custom IP blocks and system-level designs for automation, robotics and functional safety related applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and specifications.
- Perform hardware-software co-design and integrate FPGA solutions into larger systems.
- Ensure designs meet industry standards, safety, and reliability requirements, especially in safety-critical or regulated environments.
- Debug and troubleshoot FPGA hardware, firmware, and software issues.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and user guides.
- Stay updated with the latest FPGA technologies and methodologies to improve design processes.
- Occasional business travel and opportunities to attend industry trade shows and conferences.
Based in the Marlow, UK Office, the successful candidate will thrive within a friendly, fun and collaborative environment, working closely with on-site and virtual teams across engineering, business and sales groups.
Qualifications:
We welcome applications from candidates with skills in these areas:
- A customer-focused approach to engineering and documentation.
- B Eng in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent with excellent results.
- FPGA hardware design skills (Verilog/VHDL and system building with IP).
- A strong desire to program and promote FPGA SoCs, solving problems along the way.
- Understanding of embedded systems using CPUs, FPGAs and other hardware.
- Comfortable with embedded software design and Linux.
- High level analysis skills using MATLAB or similar.
- Keen to support customers with Functional Safety requirements.
It is also highly desirable to have experience in:
- Safety standards such as IEC 61508, ISO 26262 or DO 178/DO 254.
- Security assurance techniques and IEC62443 understanding of systematic capability processes and quality management system level practices.
