Spire Cheshire Hospital has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Stock Manager to join our team on a full-time and permanent basis. Working hours: 9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday. Quarterly stock take will be required on a Sunday from 7 am to 12 pm.

As Stock Manager you will be responsible to ensure a robust stock management service is in place for all hospital departments and external stakeholders, in accordance with company policy.

Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to):

  • Responsible for the safe and secure storage of theatre prosthesis and consumables stock.
  • Control & track all stock in line with internal processes.
  • Lead and fully own quarterly stock take for the hospital.
  • Management of the small stores team, including supervision, coaching and performance management in accordance with Spire policies.
  • Responsible for the ordering, receiving and distribution of hospital supplies.
  • Set, monitor and regularly review stock levels to meet the needs of the hospital without unnecessary over stocking, and manage slow moving items.
  • Manage the movements of consignment stock, and ensure PAR levels reflect authorised consignment agreements, with periodic reconciliation.
  • Provide support and guidance to all departments across the hospital in relation to stock management and processes.
  • Manage the Accounts Payable Query log & Open PO’s such that the Hospital has a green cash flow KPI each month.
  • Review stock days and bring hospital in line with group targets.

Who are we looking for?

  • Previous experience in logistics/stock control is essential.
  • Experience in leadership is required.
  • Knowledge of computerised stock control.
  • Hospital experience would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Flexibility of approach and working collaboratively is essential as a significant proportion of the role will involve assisting other departments in resolving difficulties.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to communicate at all levels of an organisation.
  • Planning and organisation skills, accurate/attention to detail, process orientated and trustworthy.
