The Vacancy
North Lincolnshire Council is seeking a community-spirited individual to provide a school crossing service to children and their parents/guardians. Applicants should have a good understanding of road use and traffic awareness. You will need to judge when it is safe to stop traffic and allow pedestrians to cross, based on your assessment of speed and distance. The presence of a School Crossing Patrol encourages walking to school, offering environmental and health benefits, and enhancing safety. Duty times are before school opens in the morning and after it closes in the afternoon. Good verbal communication skills are essential. This post is temporary until 29th September 2025. Patrol times are AM 08:15 – 09:00 and PM 15:10 – 15:40.
