Printer Engineer and Desktop Support – Field Based Join to apply for the Printer Engineer and Desktop Support – Field Based role at A&O IT Group LOCATION: Manchester/North West area Work vehicle and fuel costs are provided. Pay: £17 per hour. This is the gross rate before deductions and will be paid via an umbrella company for payroll purposes. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Perform intrusive repairs on Multi Function Printers (MFP), and conduct maintenance/repair of desktops, laptops, and printers. Manage incidents, installations, and changes through the incident management system, providing real-time feedback and ensuring timely paperwork completion. Diagnose and resolve problems using troubleshooting techniques, liaising with A&O and customer helpdesks as needed. Understand current processes and collaborate with management to improve productivity, utilization, and customer satisfaction. Deliver excellent customer service that exceeds expectations. Adhere to all company processes and customer-specific instructions. Prioritize escalations and requests, assessing severity and business impact, and escalate to management when necessary. Complete tasks as specified by management in line with business needs. Participate in shift/standby rota as required. Manage local spares and keep systems updated and accurate. Perform quarterly audits and complete online training within specified timeframes. REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS Experience with intrusive repairs on Multi Function Printers (MFP). Ability to lift and move large MFPs; good physical fitness required. Strong communication skills at all levels. Valid UK Driving Licence. Ability to remain calm under pressure and meet response targets. Support end-user desk moves, printer relocations, server checks, tape rotations, etc. Proven desk side support experience. Knowledge of Microsoft Windows OS and Microsoft Office. Experience in hardware maintenance/repair of desktops, laptops, and printers. Working knowledge of server hardware. Organized with good time management and prioritization skills. Excellent administrative skills. Flexible with working hours and overtime. Willingness to travel and drive a Luton van when required.
