Spencer Clarke Group are on the look out for an experienced Cloud Bookkeeper who has 5+ years experience working in an Accountancy firm or have been working self employed as a Bookkeeper. This role is mainly home working; however, you will need to be able to visit the office premises in Preston and visit clients when required. If you prefer being office based, this also works perfectly for our client.
Our client is looking for someone who has had experience of working with at least two pieces of software such as Xero, Sage business cloud (sage one), Quickbooks and/or Sage 50. We need someone who is personable, friendly, upbeat and confident as the role is very much client facing (in person, email and phone etc) and fast paced. For this role, you will need to have a car and feel comfortable going out to clients' premises/offices or at the firm's office to assist and train clients (and also collect records when needs be). Free car parking is available.
What this role entails:
- Processing and preparing clients' bookkeeping records and VAT returns within cloud accounting software and Excel.
- Element of training clients on a one-to-one basis over the phone and at clients' premises within cloud accounting software they’re proficient in.
- Data entry of accounting information.
- Reconciliation of key accounts (bank, debtors, creditors, VAT, PAYE).
- Investigation into discrepancies and finding solutions.
- Preparation of Quarterly/Monthly VAT returns and submissions.
- Meeting monthly VAT deadlines.
- Reviewing VAT transactions.
- Keeping up to date with HMRC VAT and other relevant regulations along with new releases within cloud software.
- Liaising with clients.
- Reviewing clients' work, such as bookkeeping entries, VAT returns and answering clients' queries.
