The Role

We are looking for staff for this role in both Leeds and York. Are you a creative professional with a passion for teaching and inspiring children? Do you have a unique skill or talent you’re eager to share? We’re on the lookout for imaginative, enthusiastic individuals to deliver engaging workshops during the school holidays (February, Easter, Summer, and beyond).

What You’ll Bring

Rate of Pay: £120-£150 per day depending on experience

Hours: Approx. 7.5 hours per day (typically 08:30 - 16:00), Monday to Friday

Estimated Weekly Earnings: £600-£750 per week

Estimated Full Summer (6 weeks): Up to £4,500

Job Requirements

  • Proven experience working with children in a structured, safe, and engaging environment.
  • A strong enthusiasm for sharing your creative skills, whether in art, music, drama, dance, or any other unique field.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and connect with children, parents, and team members.
  • A thorough understanding of safeguarding practices and the ability to prioritize the safety and well-being of every child. Training will be provided if needed.
  • Willingness to undergo background checks, including a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, as part of our commitment to safer recruitment.
  • Capability to plan and deliver workshops, manage materials, and ensure smooth transitions between activities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, preparing, and delivering creative workshops in a structured and engaging manner, ensuring activities are enjoyable and inclusive for all children.
  • Provide attentive and proactive supervision to ensure the safety, well-being, and active participation of children throughout the sessions.
  • Follow safeguarding protocols to prioritize the safety and protection of all children, and report any concerns to the designated safeguarding officer promptly.
  • Work closely with workshop leaders to manage materials, set up equipment, and support the smooth running of activities.
  • Promote positive behaviour among children, resolve minor conflicts, and create a welcoming, respectful environment.
  • Be flexible in assisting with various workshop themes and adjusting activities to suit the abilities and interests.
