Plant Manager

Fibreplan – part of the GCU Family – a leading cabling company in the Utilities sector committed to excellence. We’re currently looking for an experienced and proactive Plant Manager to take ownership of our plant and equipment operations across our Scottish depot network. Role Overview: As Plant Manager, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the effective running, compliance, and maintenance of plant and equipment across multiple locations. This is a hands-on role that involves working closely with depot and operations teams, driving performance, and supporting the wider business with strategic plant management. Key Responsibilities: Lead day-to-day plant and equipment operations across depots Build and maintain strong working relationships with depot and operational teams Prepare regular management reports with insight and accuracy Oversee maintenance programmes and ensure compliance Manage administrative systems, records, and documentation Control plant inventory and coordinate logistics Maintain high standards of product quality and availability Manage costs and capital requirements Travel to depots across Scotland is required Skills & Experience: Experienced Plant Manager or General Manager, ideally from a utilities or civil engineering background Strong leadership experience across multi-site operations Proven record of delivering operational improvements Confident communicator with a collaborative mindset Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel Full UK driving licence What We Offer: Fibreplan provides a competitive salary, clear opportunities for professional growth, and a supportive environment where your expertise and ideas will help shape our future.
