As a Designer at COS you are responsible to deliver the company vision and targets clearly for your department. In this role you are responsible for building and driving a strong assortment, providing products that sit in a complete wardrobe in all layers of the triangle meeting the customers’ requirements and the COS aesthetic. You are responsible to drive the selling, constantly with the customers’ expectations in mind. Our woven department includes many of the garment groups that COS has become renowned for including tailoring, denim and outdoor.

What you will do:

  • Work collaboratively with design, buying and pattern teams from concept to completion aligning on seasonal direction, trends, timelines and customer insights.
  • Create, drape and garment construction, working with premium fabrics.
  • Build an assortment by delivering a considered collection that is true to the COS design aesthetic.
  • Work with the broader design teams to ensure that there is a clear definition between the departments.
  • Ensure the development of the collection and trends each season, providing a complete wardrobe offer for our customer.
  • Responsible for driving the research for the woven department, ensuring customer focus by constantly evaluating and exploring our customers, working with our customer types, trends and customer insights and tendencies.
  • Collaborate with all functions in the design/buying/pattern department, to ensure you deliver an efficient workflow and operate towards long- and short-term goals that you set for your department.
  • Lead and develop assistant & junior designers to grow the business, guiding them through the whole employee life cycle.
  • Ensure to maintain the critical path by preparing meetings and informing the team.
  • Provide high level of awareness and knowledge of current and future trends to enhance design quality of the department.

What you need to succeed:

  • The ideal candidate is an experienced Designer/Senior Designer who will bring creative strength and newness to each collection.
  • You will have a strong design identity as well as a clear understanding of what customers want to see in store and online.
  • Experience in a menswear woven designer/senior designer role.
  • Degree in Fashion Design (menswear preferred).
  • Strong luxury fashion intelligence, essential to have worked with premium fabrics.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to delegate effectively, uphold and enhance best practices, and ensure alignment with critical path deadlines.
  • Wide technical knowledge and a great understanding of textiles, garment making & fit.
  • High level of awareness and knowledge of current and future trends.
  • Strong grasp of sustainable fashion solutions, material innovation and product development.
  • Strong team player and inspiring communicator.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced and creative environment.
