We are looking for a committed and forward-thinking individual to join the libraries management team. Located in West Yorkshire, Calderdale offers an excellent quality of life, there is plenty to do, with a great choice of restaurants, bars, theatres, cinemas, museums, and art galleries to visit. Our beautiful countryside also means that the chance to walk, ride and cycle are right on your doorstep. The service has twelve libraries including the award-winning Central Library & Archives Halifax and a home library service.

The successful candidate will support the Libraries Manager with implementation of strategic plans for the council's library services for the benefit of people who live, work, study or visit Calderdale and contribute to making full and efficient use of all resources to deliver a relevant and sustainable service in line with the Library Universal offers.
The successful candidate will have responsibility for the delivery of library services for children and young people, information and local studies provision, digital services, stock management, marketing and promotion and the coordination of outreach activities. You will need to be able to inspire people to engage with library services and thereby increase active usage of libraries by people of all ages, through an innovative and creative approach.
You will hold a degree accredited by the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP). Ideally will be an MCLIP or ACLIP and/or have demonstrable experience to fulfil the requirements of the post and have a Level 2 ICT Qualification or demonstrable equivalent level of computing competency.
